Awards

In 2010, the Mt. Lebanon Fire Department received the Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence for Innovative Community and Governmental Initiatives for its use of information technology in the fire department.

The Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence recognizes local governments and officials who improve their community in creative ways.

In 2011, the department received an honorable mention, and in 2012, the department received first place in Division A (Total population of 10,000 or more) for the Chief Robert W. Little Jr. Memorial Fire Safety Education Award. The award. sponsored by VFIS, was established in 1982 and revised in 2004. These awards are presented to the top nine fire company/departments, who in the opinion of the Awards Committee, have done an outstanding job of providing fire safety education programs to their communities.
