Volunteer
We are looking for a few good men and women…We are looking for you!
Being a volunteer firefighter is challenging and rewarding. As a volunteer, you can expect to be challenged. Because firefighting is a dangerous job, you will receive a great deal of training to ensure that you are well versed in the art and science of fire and rescue. In addition to responding to calls, you will have the opportunity to participate in some of the department’s various community activities.
The benefits of becoming a volunteer include:
- A sense of fulfillment and pride in serving the community.
- Call out and long-term compensation.
- Paid training.
- Uniform allowance and other incentives.
Minimum requirements include:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Pennsylvania driver license.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
- Mt. Lebanon resident.
- Pass an oral interview, background check, and physical agility test.
The commitment you make as a Volunteer Firefighter is not only to the Fire Department but also to the community. And this is a commitment that not only you but your family must agree upon. The hours are long – the work is dirty – and the situations are hazardous. Your greatest driving force will be your Pride. If you believe you have what it takes to meet the challenges of our business, we welcome you to join us.
