Community Warning
The Operations and Emergency Division is responsible for the Community Warning Systems. The system consists of eight (8) rooftop sirens, the local cable access channels, and Lebo Alert. The system is utilized to provide early warning for severe weather events, power and utility outages, civil disturbances, and other potentially hazardous events.
Tests of the community warning sirens are conducted on the first Saturday of each month at 1:00 p.m. These tests are important to maintaining the effectiveness of the equipment and are designed to remind all residents of what to do in the event of an actual emergency.
When you hear the sirens, you should immediately tune into Comcast Channel 17 or Verizon Channel 34.
