It is the mission of the Training Division to plan, direct and administer quality, comprehensive training so that all Mount Lebanon Firefighters possess the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to carry out the Department’s mission.
The Training Division coordinates specialized in-house training to convey new concepts and techniques, reinforce existing skills and address modern advances in the delivery of emergency services which maintain the high skill level of personnel.
The Department is committed to providing training that meets or exceeds industry standards. The Department accomplishes this both through the cooperation of several External Training Agencies (Allegheny County Fire Academy, Community College of Allegheny County, Bucks County Community College, Emergency Medical Services Institute, Pennsylvania State Fire Academy) and the utilization of its 13 state certified fire instructors. The Department is recognized at the “Gold Level” through the Pennsylvania Voluntary Professional Certification Program with all suppression staff certified to a minimum of Fire Fighter I.
