Building Code

In order to adopt regulations, inter alia, for the construction of new buildings and the alteration and repair of old ones, to require that before the work begins Municipal approval of the plans and specifications therefore be secured, to classify buildings or parts of buildings according to the use to be made of them, to specify the mode of construction of such different classes of buildings, and to require that before any use or occupancy be changed from any plans and specifications therefore be secured, the Municipality of Mt. Lebanon hereby elects to administer and enforce the provisions of the Pennsylvania Construction Code Act, Act 45 of 1999, 35 P.S. §7210.101- 7210.1103, as amended from time to time, and its regulations.  The Uniform Construction Code, contained in 34 Pa. Code, Chapters 401-405, as amended from time to time is hereby adopted and incorporated herein by reference as the municipal building code of the Municipality of Mt. Lebanon.




Fire Prevention Code

In order to adopt regulations relative to the cause and management of fire and the prevention thereof, the Municipality has adopted the BOCA National Fire Prevention Code of the Building Officials and Code Administrators Int’l, Inc.,  9th Edition, 1993 (hereinafter referred to as the “Fire Prevention Code”), as fully and completely as though the said Fire Prevention Code were set forth herein at length, except and unless otherwise provided to the contrary in the statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the rules and regulations of the County of Allegheny, and § 102 of this Chapter, in which event the contrary provisions of the said statues, rules and regulations or § 102 of this chapter shall control.
